Our daughter Jikke has been dreaming for years of joining Masterskip and crossing the ocean on a large sailing ship. To her great frustration, she was always too young, because the minimum age is 15. But this coming fall, literally two days after her 15th birthday, she’s really going on a trip! She wrote a letter of motivation, asked permission at school, and came up with a plan to raise the money. That’s why you’ll see Jikke cleaning the campsite a lot this summer, working at the reception desk, babysitting, and serving delicious ice cream and cold drinks with ‘Jikke serves‘! By ordering something delicious, you’re helping to make Jikke’s dream come true.

Order from Jikke via WhatsApp (before 10 PM). Enter your reservation name, the campfield or house you’re staying in, and your order in the app. Jikke will bring it to you and you can pay cash!
She does this all summer, but occasionally she’s not available… she’ll let you know directly via the app.

Who is Jikke?
Hi! I’m Jikke, 14 years old, and I’ve lived at the campsite my whole life: it Dreamlân! I grew up here with my two older brothers. I used to play a lot at the campsite, made friends, and helped Mom clean the showers, although that was more swinging and jumping on the trampoline than helping out…
Now I’m 14, and because I need to earn a lot of money for my dream of crossing the ocean with Masterskip, I’m helping out a lot at the campsite this summer: cleaning the showers, welcoming guests, babysitting, and since this year, serving delicious food all over the campsite!
What is Masterskip?
Masterskip is a Dutch organization that organizes sailing and world trips. I’ve been dreaming of taking such a trip for years. This year, it’s finally happening: I’m going on Masterskip!
My journey starts at the very tip of Spain (A Coruña) and sails via the Canary Islands to West Africa (Cape Verde). From there, I’ll catch the first trade winds of the season and make a lightning-fast crossing to the Caribbean. Along with about 30 other trainees, I’ll board the sailing ship on the Spanish coast this coming October. After seeing the magnificent volcanoes of Portugal and the deserts of Morocco, we’ll cross the ocean from Cape Verde towards the Caribbean. After about seven weeks of sailing, learning, and laughing, I finally arrive in sunny Sint Maarten!
I expect to learn a lot from this trip and hope to develop and strengthen myself through this experience.
